Confession #29 Maintaining Faith With Either Outcome

A few days ago, a church member called and prayed with me over the phone. One thing that stuck out that she told me, "Face the facts, but keep the faith". I pondered on this for a while. Exactly what are the facts? Either 2 things are possible and according to statistics, 1 is higly likely to occur, with only a 15% chance for the other to occur. I had to come to a place where I had to completely trust God and let him have control. No matter which route he decides to take, he has a plan that goes beyond my understanding. Granted, we all have our choices of how we would like things to turn out. The fact is, it's not about us, it's about Jesus. And granted, it will be tough to deal with one of those outcomes, but as long as I have God in my heart, I know that I can live through it. I will not allow statistics to waiver my faith in his word. Hebrews 11:6 And without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

There are going to be some days that will be harder than others. As I listened to the words of Sunday's Best Contestant, Jessica Reedy "God has smiled on me", so many emotions began to pour out.
One day I was in my room and I wasn't feeling you
I said Father are you there, Im feeling real scared
So i got down on my knees as I began to pray
Hoping that the Lord heard what I had to say
I said God God God please
I started begging
I said God God God please
Pleading, then I got on my knees, so as I began to cry
He said I never left your side
I've been right here all along
So you can dry your eyes
seeking me like I knew you would
praising me like I knew you could
That's when I realized...He's so good,
He's good, he's been good to me...

This past Saturday has been one of the most amazing days I have had in a while. The sun shined so bright and the weather was amazing. When I looked up to the sky and noticed how bright the sun was, for me it was God way of telling me that everything will be ok. My spirit felt him smiling on me and it was the warmest feeling.

Check out today's thrift pick. When shopping at consignment shops and thrift stores, be creative and learn your options. Somethings can be altered to what ever vision you have for it. All it takes is scissors, needle, and thread.

Here is romper I found. Cute, but not cute enough. Scroll below to see the alternate outcome I visioned for this piece.

Why not cut the pants off and make them shorts?! I personally like it way better. What are your thoughts?

Plaid shirt, vest, and shorts are all thrift finds.

Another interesting find is this glitter sweater. I simply cut the neck off it to make it hang off the shoulder a bit. If you are daring enough, why not wear what you cut as a necklace?

Confession #28 Prayer Warriors

Now that the new year is here, it has already kicked off with a bang. Ended the year with some not so great news and began the year with some not so great news. It's as if I'm living in a bad dream that has some how become reality and changed my life completely.  It warms my heart to know that I am surrounded by praying warriors. When I do not have the strength to pray for myself, I'm surrounded by family and friends that can.

As I try to understand the various events that are going on around me, I remembered this verse:
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.
So instead of me questioning God's reasoning behind these events, I choose to trust God and just let him work.
James 1:1-8 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.  If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.  But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.  That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.  Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.
A few months ago during a fast, I prayed for God to use me; Give me a testimony. Funny now that all these events are now happening. Be careful what you pray for. When you pray for strength, the only way for him to give you strength is to take you through a situation where you have to dig deeper than ever before to pull through. When you pray for peace, you may have to go through a season of nothing but chaos. And now that I have prayed for God to give me a testimony, he is doing just that.
